SunCity Paradise: How has traveling enhanced the meaning of your album release? Aside from the stops on your tour, if you had to choose the most picturesque place you’ve played at, what would it be?
Idriss D: Traveling in support of a release has always been a major key for every artist. The most picturesque place would be back in my native Algeria: traveling back home and playing to my people.

SCP: How are music and travel intertwined? How wonderful is it to combine the two?
ID: Traveling is part of my job, so one thing is tied to the other for good. Music unites people, so traveling is a way to go over boundaries and feel the human touch of it all.
SCP: When searching for a personal getaway, are you searching more for a serene beach or after a more active, adventurous getaway?
ID: Somewhere where I can disconnect for a while.
SCP: One of our core objectives at SCP is to bring people together while traveling, not only to influence people to see and appreciate our beautiful world, but to also minimize cross-cultural divides. What effect does traveling, specifically surrounding dance music, have on humans in this regard? How has it broadened your perspective of the world?
ID: With traveling being easier than before these days, I can see people getting more and more aware of other cultures and ways of life. Also, thanks to the Internet and all the communication tools, there’s really much more open-mindedness.
SCP: You’ve kicked off your Amalgamation album tour, traveling from Spain, through Italy, with stops in Switzerland and Germany. Describe something you’re really looking forward to.
ID: The most amazing memories of touring come always from the fans. How they react to my music is priceless. At the end of the day, DJing is what allows me to truly communicate with people.
SCP: Was traveling and seeing the world part of your inspiration to become a DJ, as well as for your many rolls throughout music? How has it broadened your horizons?
ID: Yes, definitely. Especially because it got me in contact with the artists that inspired me and the places that gave birth to some of the music I was listening to while growing up. Sort of going back to where it all began.
SCP: Everyone has a list of places that they haven’t seen yet, but want to. What are some of the places you can’t wait to hit? Why?

ID: Japan. They have so many traditional values, and their lifestyle is very respectful of other individuals.
SCP: Lastly, when’s the next vacation and where to?
ID: No idea. Hopefully very soon…October 2016
