Love of Travel

“No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he comes home and rests his head on his old, familiar pillow.” – Lin Yutang

There’s a simple, innate beauty about traveling. A hectic, exciting, yet blissfully calm feeling runs throughout the body. When we escape our everyday lifestyles, it frees the mind. We instantly become more in touch with who we really are. When we explore a destination that we’ve either never been to before, or we are not as familiar with, it teaches us something different about ourselves every time.

Part of traveling is the uneasy feeling of stepping away from our comfort zone. Everything is different. The language, culture and surroundings won’t be the same. One of best aspects of traveling is brining out our chameleon like mindset and blending in with the environment and its locals.

Everyone has seen the gaudy tourists that stick out like a sore thumb, while seeing the sights and commemorating every moment is nice, building relationships with the locals and seeing their destination the way they see it is ideal. Uncovering the special characteristics left out or unknown in the tourists guides, will provide lasting memories.

“A traveler without observation is a bird without wings.” – Moslih Eddin Saadi

Adding to the love of travel, are simply the gorgeous sights that can be found in every corner of this spectacular world we live in. Some may be more famous than others, but if everyone slows down, steps out of their house and actually appreciates the beauty that surrounds us, they’ll find something sensational. This is amplified when traveling abroad. When we combine the mystic of an unknown destination, with the excitement of boarding a mode of transportation and traveling a distance, it only adds to the wonder.

Everyone has a bucket list they want to check off, and everyones may be different, but the one thing that is a constant is seeing the world. No one will ever truly finish theirs off, there will be something that they don’t see or an activity they won’t get to do, and that is completely fine. The beauty of it isn’t to finish or to get there, it’s to appreciate the journey and with whom you take that journey with. That is the love of travel.
